The invention prohibits operation of the engine-stop device when a malfunction is detected.
The invention of Ko 1 (a vehicle equipped with idle-stop and brake-holding devices) and the matters described in Ko 5 (abnormality detection and warning for a hill-start assist device) share the same technical field: both concern vehicles equipped with a brake-holding device and using a function that maintains the applied-brake state.
A malfunction of the brake-holding device is also an anticipated problem in the Ko 1 invention. As it is clear that brake hydraulic pressure cannot be maintained if that device has an abnormality, there is motivation to add the matters described in Ko 5 (an abnormality-detection signal) to solve that problem.
The Ko 1 invention has the technical concept of resolving problems such as sudden starts when restarting after idle-stop by operating the brake-holding device.
Accordingly, when the brake-holding device has failed and cannot operate, a person skilled in the art could readily have adopted a configuration using that detection result as a condition for idle-stop and prohibiting its operation (difference 3).
Whether merely to issue a warning on malfunction (Ko 5), prohibit operation of the device (the invention), or do both is a design matter.
⇒ No inventive step.
